Notification preview - not honouring watch setting

On Android Wear 2.0 notifications show for around 1 to 2 seconds when the watch has been set to show them for 5. Switching to a non-watchmaker face then honours the 5 seconds. Also, the time the bright face is shown following a wrist gesture is similarly too short.
