Doesn't work at all. Causes my watch to freeze. Compainion app is installed.

I am facing the same problem. I have already uninstall the companion app from the watch and the watchmaker from the phone. I have already made a reset to the watch and install everything again. NOTHING seems to work ! I bought the premium version and cannot use the app.
I have the Samsung S6 with the Firmware G925FXXU6ERC9 and the Gear S3 with Tizen Version 3.0.0.2 with the firmware R760XXU2CRH1
Update 29 Aug: we finally received the Samsung Gear Update in the UK (where we are located) - fix is ready and submitted to Samsung! We must now wait for Samsung to review the fix - this usually takes a week but I have requested a faster review.
The issue was relating to In App Purchases no longer working since the Samsung security fix - we have removed Purchases from the version submitted to Samsung.
