Watchmaker on Gear S3 disconnects from phone

Sometimes my Watchmaker app on the watch "disconnects" from my phone: no weather updates, no steps updates (from phone), no tasker tasks can be launched.
However, at the same time, I have checked many other apps on the watch (like the
internet browser, weather app, etc), and they DO have internet connection to the
phone via bluetooth and work perfectly.

A workaround for this is just to turn off and then on Bluetooth on the phone, or
turn on "Airplane Mode" on the watch, and immediately back to normal, and
connection between Watchmaker and phone restores perfectly.
