WatchMaker Lagging and Freezing Since Last Update

Since the last update (to version 5.6.7) my watch face has started lagging and freezing badly. Hand positions are not always updating in dim mode, waking from dim to bright takes several seconds, and the second hand does not always wake up, on face tap actions (such as displaying steps in larger text) are very slow or don't happen at all. Dim mode does not always activate properly, leaving bright only features still visible. All of this worked perfectly until this update.
