Thanks

I have the LG R. Same issue. Please fix
AlexCurran, 16.01.2015, 10:11
We tried using Google Fit but the API doesn't reliably allow getting today's steps.
Instead we use the built-in pedometer which should give similar results.
From WatchMaker 3.0.0 onwards, this will auto-reset at midnight.

New user..just purchased today. Like the app, but when I try to add a step counter, the watch routinely says "0".

Asus Zenwatch
ajr, 13.05.2015, 07:08
I am also not happy with the almost always incorrect step count on my LG G Watch R
Julia, 30.06.2015, 23:26
Mine also does not match Google Fit or the built-in pedometer
larry, 14.07.2015, 03:05
On my Moto 360 the step count seemed off and Moto Body stopped counting. Even after removing the step counter from the watch face, Moto Body doesn't count my steps. What can be done to rectify this?
robert brandes, 16.07.2015, 14:16
if I am running a watchmaker watch face that does not use the step counter and then switch to a watchmaker watch that does use the step counter it starts at zero.

step counting is illusive when I do short and carful testing my fitbit count is between fit and watchmaker. and I understand that issue. but it would be nice if it counted steps as long as watchmaker is running, and it does not seem to do that.
darren fernandez, 09.09.2015, 08:21
I would really like the steps to come from Google fit. Only thing stopping me from using wmp faces fulltime
JuanG, 15.12.2015, 14:51
I would also like very much to have new variables to read data from Google Fit (like steps, short activity steps, distance, etc.
Read ONLY.

Thanks.
Jörg, 17.01.2016, 08:13
On my Moto 2015 the same issue. Startet today walking, Google Fit 1100 Steps, Moto 0. As I got the Watchface out of dim and walked, then it started counting. I would prefer to read out googles stepcount
halfey, 11.04.2016, 08:26
I too have this problem on my Zenwatch 2. Since pulling data from Google Fit API is unreliable what alternative do we have instead of giving us zero step every time we switch to this watch face? I don't know how to properly describe this but I don't really like the feeling of being presented only a "few hundreds" steps when in reality I already took thousands. The watchface only starts counting (from zero) when I switched to it instead of pulling initial data from elsewhere.
Rainer, 15.09.2016, 11:42
same Problem with Step-Counter on LG Watch Urban! So i can't use WM Faces so long, as the mistake is cancelled!
YJ, 28.12.2016, 01:24
Step counter in watch face (sensor tags is {ssc]) is different with google fitness in same LG watch.
ArtemGratchev, 02.01.2017, 11:24
I believe the problem is caused by missing permissions to read Google Fit data.

WatchMaker does never request the permission for this. I also do not see WatchMaker in the list of apps to give a Fit permission for.
knaztea, 02.03.2017, 04:17
The step Counter and heart rate is wildly different than the Google fit numbers. The Google fit values seem much more logical than whatever source your script is pulling from. This is definitely an issue that needs to be fixed.
Nhila, 02.03.2017, 04:48
Step count doesn't work at all. Everything ekse like weather update or calender widget does. Can you please fix this?
Laszlo, 02.03.2017, 08:29
On my ticwatch it is different from the watch internal step count value in the latest beta 4.0.3.
MarkInMD, 09.03.2017, 14:04
I just built a face for my Samsung Gear S3 Classic displaying both steps and heart rate. Both are either zero or inaccurate. When I am Running WatchMaker on my phone the step counter on the watch will count up (is there live data transfer?) but after I leave the app the phone data freezes or reads zero. The heart rate has never read anything but zero.
Ragnar, 10.03.2017, 00:25
Same here, haven't found a way around it.
ronnybetatester, 24.04.2017, 12:54
Same problem on the Huawei Watch 2... is this a problem with Android Wear 2?
When will the bug be fixed? Is the fix come with the update from the 20th april?
ronnybetatester, 03.05.2017, 11:29
On my Huawei Watch 2 the steps were shown correctly after someone told me, that the steps start counting when you activate the watchface. So if you set the watchface your steps will be null and if you walk a bit your steps will be shown.
Brian, 08.06.2017, 14:38
I suppose that might make sense; it sort of behaves that way on my Huawei 1 watch, too. Hopefully the developer will confirm or deny.
Homer1073, 15.05.2017, 19:06
Steps and heart rate will not work on my Samsung gear S 3 either
Ali, 16.06.2017, 23:45
Having the same issue of zero steps on my Huawei Watch running Android 2.0
Jim LaRose, 03.07.2017, 04:36
Have a gear s3 with lg v20. I tried using samsung health data to update step count but get zero steps. When i use the phone i get a number, but that number is junk. The correct number is from s health, but i can't get that to transfer. I have given the permissions required as well.
Matthew Parker, 29.09.2017, 18:14
I also have the frontier s3 with the Samsung s8. I'm having the same issues. Did you find a fix?
Daniel, 04.08.2017, 12:00
Have the same problem on Zenwatch 3. Is this bug still under considerations after two and a half year?
Stephen McLean , 10.09.2017, 21:03
I have the same issue with my New Balance RunIQ. It seems like the app also crashes frequently.
I've tried every experimental fix, but it just doesn't get stable.
Steve Blair , 13.09.2017, 13:15
I have an LG G Watch R and my step count shows as 0 regardless of what watch face I choose. Used to work perfectly.
Jeffrey westfall, 30.09.2017, 17:52
Beautiful watch faces the step counter does not work at all stays on zero very disappointed
Arbee cee, 07.10.2017, 10:50
Huawei w1
Wwtchmaker Step count resets to zero on watch reboot.
Google fit app on the watch keeps the step count figure.
Please can code be fixed?
Thanks
Tezza Tucker, 19.10.2017, 10:44
As of late, some faces I have transferred to watch made with watchmaker app do not count any steps and stays at zero. I have rebooted watch and phone but to no avail. Fit sees the steps on watch and so does Huawei Tracker. I am using a Huawei Watch 2 Sport with android wear 2 and phone is LG G6 on Android 7 Nougat.

Any suggestions or answers would be good.

Thanks.
Harry Hillman, 30.11.2017, 17:35
On my Gear Sport step count is always 0. I move at least 6000 steps per day. Step Count on faces from Samsung seem to work correctly.
Onionhead, 22.12.2017, 01:50
On my gear S3, steps count always stay at zero, can you fix this?
channing, 02.01.2018, 15:26
my step count did not register either. I went to watchmaker permissions and toggled the sensor switch. that seem to fix it for me.
Frazer, 04.01.2018, 07:47
For example today I've done 10,400 steps but only 11 are displaying on my watch face. If i knew this feature was not working I wouldn't have paid money for the app.
Very disappointed.
B, 13.01.2018, 13:12
Same problem with Polar m600. In reality 6000 steps and it shows 0
GREGORY ELLIOTT, 16.01.2018, 23:22

Hey i have the same problem did you fin it? I hava de galaxy watch
BazingaSmith, 03.02.2018, 22:29
same here . Step count on watchface does not reflect count as shown in Google Fit
Pmps79 , 29.07.2018, 19:42
I have a Ticwatch Pro and Watchmaker Premium.
All of the watch faces show a step count very different from google fit.
The original ticwatch watch faces work properly (in sync with google fit).
I would apreciate a suggestion/solution for this issue.
Thanks.
Frazer, 04.02.2018, 05:17
Seems to be working correctly after multiple updates over the past couple of weeks
Frazer, 05.02.2018, 05:26
Worked perfectly for a couples days, now it does not, what the?
Steve Matovski, 15.03.2018, 20:30
Samsung Gear S3 is not getting steps, time locations, and other settings from the watchmaker app anymore.
Crystal, 20.03.2018, 00:54
Ticwatch E. Can not get the step counter or calorie tracker to sync. It just keeps showing 0.
Henk, 21.04.2018, 09:40
Ticwatch S. All watchfaces with stepcounter show 0. All non-watchmaker watchfaces work fine.
AlexCurran, 18.06.2018, 20:21
possibly you need to allow permissions on your watch
lamoglinsgal, 23.05.2018, 12:26
New purchaser here with a Samsung Gear Sport/Tizen. I'm also having the issue with the step count. I've tried the setting to use the watch step counts and use Samsung Health counts with no luck. I can sometimes get steps, but they freeze and do not match up with the watch pedometer.
Drizzy Dre, 04.06.2018, 17:49
My steps are very different from my samsung health steps. I have a samsung gear s2 classic, and every face I use is behind significantly and this is a major issue for me to keep using the watch faces I've already PAID for. Please help!
AlexCurran, 18.06.2018, 20:21
did you try the different step count options - note there are settings in both the phone and watch apps
Ben R., 30.06.2018, 05:58
Similar issue. Samsung Gear S3 Frontier. All watch faces are showing incorrect step count. Like almost half. I've tried all the different step options and all give the same number on the watch. The test feature gives the right numbers on the phone, but the phone doesn't reflect the same. Just paid for premium hoping better watch faces may solve the issue. Needs attention ASAP!
Andre, 30.06.2018, 20:36
Same here: New S3, Watchmaker Premium 4.9.9
All Watchfaces show very wrong setop count, no problem with the samsung watchfaces
Manuel, 09.08.2018, 20:50
Same here (also BPM doesn't look to be update well), it's a must go but this thing get me crazy
Mike_Warner, 24.07.2018, 15:05
I originally purchased Watchmaker from Samsung and after numerous attempts to get the step counter and heart rate monitor to work I uninstalled both Watchmaker and the companion app and installed Watchmaker from the Google Play store as it was a later version than the Samsung app was. Everything worked perfectly for a day and then both stopped working again. So I again uninstalled and reinstalled both Watchmaker and again both the step counter and heart rate monitor worked perfectly for a day and then stopped working. I have a Samsung S3 Classic and a Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I'm running Watchmaker Build Number 5.1.8 (2251804) and Build Number Watch 4.9.9
Pmps79, 29.07.2018, 19:46
Cheers.
I have a Ticwatch Pro and Watchmaker Premium.
None of the Watchmaker watch faces show the right step count (very different from Google Fit step count).
I would apreciate a suggestion/solution to this issue.
Thanks.
Rob Merritt, 04.08.2018, 13:48
Heart rate not registering on whatchface. I see everyone submitting the issue but no one saying how to fix it. Please advise.
Bobwoods20, 10.08.2018, 20:30
I just started using this a few days ago and steps are not the same as watch or phone. Will this ever be corrected?
Pascal, 10.09.2018, 12:36
Watch Maker premium 5.2 with Galaxy Watch 42mm
I get roughly about 200 steps missing on watch faces.
Original Samsung faces are displaying the correct numbers.
Gaston De Zarraga, 04.12.2018, 17:45
Using Watchmaker Premium on a TicWatch Pro, my step count resets to 0 and won't resync with daily step count reported everywhere else.
Matt, 08.08.2019, 04:56
Same here.
Beppe, 12.01.2019, 20:05
Hello the step counter show always 32 and doesn’t work
Watchmakers is sync with Samsung gear S3
Beppe, 13.01.2019, 20:49
After more check there is no algnement between the (function) step counter of watchmaker and the counter of gear S3
Paul, 19.01.2019, 22:47
Same problem as Pascal mentioned above my Comment with my samsung 46mm galaxy watch.
The step counter is completely wrong but the original samsung faces and watch faces I get from Facer are showing the correct step count.
Brask, 04.03.2019, 17:29
Step counter is always out of sync, some times 5% some times 50%. Running a Galaxy Watch 46mm. Tested Facer which is not as good as watchmaker but it actually showed correct steps so should be possible to make it exact.
ronman, 10.03.2019, 18:28
I have got the same issue! Pleace fix the probem! I paid for watchmaker. Then the essential values should be displayed correctly! Am disappointed...
Dr. D, 11.03.2019, 07:30
Same problem with galaxy watch 46mm... Facer and original faces works fine and show the steps correctly...
Einar Nilsen, 02.04.2019, 20:58
Same issue with Ticwatch Pro. Can somebody fix this?
My homemade watches show wrong. Frustrating:
Js, 17.04.2019, 02:39
Ya. Super disappointed that steps don't come through ever on my gear s3 frontier. Works fine with other watch faces though... Needs attention asap.
Ari, 08.07.2019, 12:09
Facer works, thank god.
Matt, 08.08.2019, 04:59
I just bought a watch face set for my Ticwatch Pro But my steps show 77 on my watch face. It on my Ticwatch screen says 9353. Please help. I use this a lot!

I have the same problem with Fossil Q Explorist please help!
Orange Fifty, 27.08.2019, 01:08
The step count issue, as well as the weather never updating issue (on Tizen, at least) have been around for ages. The developer obviously has no interest in fixing them.
Bill, 28.08.2019, 21:52
My steps on the app watch preview is correct, but when I transfer the watchface to my samsung S3 it's not the correct number of steps. I'm using Samsung Health. For example on the app is shows 2269 steps which is what my phone indicates, but on the watch is shows 1776. Please fix
Ben, 02.10.2019, 12:24
The step count on my gear S3 is out now on all watch faces. Previously method 1 worked fine, but now it is very hit and miss. The app might have the correct step count and will display it on the watch face within the app, but when sync, the actual watch doesn't update. Almost like the watch is stuck on watch only count.
Jorge.rs, 28.10.2019, 07:55
The watchmaker team don't say anything about this? Hundreds reports and nothing?
Brian, 19.04.2020, 18:49
Should be so easy. Show whatever the steps are in Google fit. Why can't this be fixed?! (Skagen falster 3)
Tiffij, 28.05.2020, 10:13
Started using this week. If I set to Use Watch then it's not picking up from the complete number of steps from the watch. It's as though it starts with an arbitrary lower value! If i set to use the phone (self defeating), then this relies on the data being synced and bounced back from the phone to the watch, which is ludicrous as I may be out without the phone and want instantaneous steps reading.

What's the solution? Am using Samsung Gear S3.
Cyndi, 03.07.2020, 21:32
Same here.. looks like nobody got a response with a fix..
Cyndi , 08.08.2020, 01:12
Is there a fix for the step counter not correct?
Cyndi, 09.01.2021, 22:59
Any fix yet?
Wil diaz, 03.03.2021, 21:01
Any fix? I have a series 6 iwatch and the step counter showed 0.
