We tried using Google Fit but the API doesn't reliably allow getting today's steps.
Instead we use the built-in pedometer which should give similar results.
From WatchMaker 3.0.0 onwards, this will auto-reset at midnight.
On my Moto 360 the step count seemed off and Moto Body stopped counting. Even after removing the step counter from the watch face, Moto Body doesn't count my steps. What can be done to rectify this?
if I am running a watchmaker watch face that does not use the step counter and then switch to a watchmaker watch that does use the step counter it starts at zero.
step counting is illusive when I do short and carful testing my fitbit count is between fit and watchmaker. and I understand that issue. but it would be nice if it counted steps as long as watchmaker is running, and it does not seem to do that.
On my Moto 2015 the same issue. Startet today walking, Google Fit 1100 Steps, Moto 0. As I got the Watchface out of dim and walked, then it started counting. I would prefer to read out googles stepcount
I too have this problem on my Zenwatch 2. Since pulling data from Google Fit API is unreliable what alternative do we have instead of giving us zero step every time we switch to this watch face? I don't know how to properly describe this but I don't really like the feeling of being presented only a "few hundreds" steps when in reality I already took thousands. The watchface only starts counting (from zero) when I switched to it instead of pulling initial data from elsewhere.
The step Counter and heart rate is wildly different than the Google fit numbers. The Google fit values seem much more logical than whatever source your script is pulling from. This is definitely an issue that needs to be fixed.
I just built a face for my Samsung Gear S3 Classic displaying both steps and heart rate. Both are either zero or inaccurate. When I am Running WatchMaker on my phone the step counter on the watch will count up (is there live data transfer?) but after I leave the app the phone data freezes or reads zero. The heart rate has never read anything but zero.
Same problem on the Huawei Watch 2... is this a problem with Android Wear 2?
When will the bug be fixed? Is the fix come with the update from the 20th april?
On my Huawei Watch 2 the steps were shown correctly after someone told me, that the steps start counting when you activate the watchface. So if you set the watchface your steps will be null and if you walk a bit your steps will be shown.
Have a gear s3 with lg v20. I tried using samsung health data to update step count but get zero steps. When i use the phone i get a number, but that number is junk. The correct number is from s health, but i can't get that to transfer. I have given the permissions required as well.
I have the same issue with my New Balance RunIQ. It seems like the app also crashes frequently.
I've tried every experimental fix, but it just doesn't get stable.
Huawei w1
Wwtchmaker Step count resets to zero on watch reboot.
Google fit app on the watch keeps the step count figure.
Please can code be fixed?
Thanks
As of late, some faces I have transferred to watch made with watchmaker app do not count any steps and stays at zero. I have rebooted watch and phone but to no avail. Fit sees the steps on watch and so does Huawei Tracker. I am using a Huawei Watch 2 Sport with android wear 2 and phone is LG G6 on Android 7 Nougat.
For example today I've done 10,400 steps but only 11 are displaying on my watch face. If i knew this feature was not working I wouldn't have paid money for the app.
Very disappointed.
I have a Ticwatch Pro and Watchmaker Premium.
All of the watch faces show a step count very different from google fit.
The original ticwatch watch faces work properly (in sync with google fit).
I would apreciate a suggestion/solution for this issue.
Thanks.
New purchaser here with a Samsung Gear Sport/Tizen. I'm also having the issue with the step count. I've tried the setting to use the watch step counts and use Samsung Health counts with no luck. I can sometimes get steps, but they freeze and do not match up with the watch pedometer.
My steps are very different from my samsung health steps. I have a samsung gear s2 classic, and every face I use is behind significantly and this is a major issue for me to keep using the watch faces I've already PAID for. Please help!
Similar issue. Samsung Gear S3 Frontier. All watch faces are showing incorrect step count. Like almost half. I've tried all the different step options and all give the same number on the watch. The test feature gives the right numbers on the phone, but the phone doesn't reflect the same. Just paid for premium hoping better watch faces may solve the issue. Needs attention ASAP!
I originally purchased Watchmaker from Samsung and after numerous attempts to get the step counter and heart rate monitor to work I uninstalled both Watchmaker and the companion app and installed Watchmaker from the Google Play store as it was a later version than the Samsung app was. Everything worked perfectly for a day and then both stopped working again. So I again uninstalled and reinstalled both Watchmaker and again both the step counter and heart rate monitor worked perfectly for a day and then stopped working. I have a Samsung S3 Classic and a Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I'm running Watchmaker Build Number 5.1.8 (2251804) and Build Number Watch 4.9.9
Cheers.
I have a Ticwatch Pro and Watchmaker Premium.
None of the Watchmaker watch faces show the right step count (very different from Google Fit step count).
I would apreciate a suggestion/solution to this issue.
Thanks.
Watch Maker premium 5.2 with Galaxy Watch 42mm
I get roughly about 200 steps missing on watch faces.
Original Samsung faces are displaying the correct numbers.
Same problem as Pascal mentioned above my Comment with my samsung 46mm galaxy watch.
The step counter is completely wrong but the original samsung faces and watch faces I get from Facer are showing the correct step count.
Step counter is always out of sync, some times 5% some times 50%. Running a Galaxy Watch 46mm. Tested Facer which is not as good as watchmaker but it actually showed correct steps so should be possible to make it exact.
I just bought a watch face set for my Ticwatch Pro But my steps show 77 on my watch face. It on my Ticwatch screen says 9353. Please help. I use this a lot!
The step count issue, as well as the weather never updating issue (on Tizen, at least) have been around for ages. The developer obviously has no interest in fixing them.
My steps on the app watch preview is correct, but when I transfer the watchface to my samsung S3 it's not the correct number of steps. I'm using Samsung Health. For example on the app is shows 2269 steps which is what my phone indicates, but on the watch is shows 1776. Please fix
The step count on my gear S3 is out now on all watch faces. Previously method 1 worked fine, but now it is very hit and miss. The app might have the correct step count and will display it on the watch face within the app, but when sync, the actual watch doesn't update. Almost like the watch is stuck on watch only count.
Started using this week. If I set to Use Watch then it's not picking up from the complete number of steps from the watch. It's as though it starts with an arbitrary lower value! If i set to use the phone (self defeating), then this relies on the data being synced and bounced back from the phone to the watch, which is ludicrous as I may be out without the phone and want instantaneous steps reading.
Same here one the Ticwatch 3 Pro. This is really annoying that it does not display the same value as the Essential Display. And I do not want to Display the google fit value
I have a Galaxy Watch 4 synced witha Galaxy A32 ans step count doesnt work in any watchface.
Both Google Fit and Samsung Health with enabled permissions have been set as complications and it always displays zero steps.
